Riptide has decided to do a couple of changes on their new models. The headstock has changed and the logo on the soundboard is gone. Quality control seems to have improved as well with really nice fit and finish.

Not like a Makala . If comparable perhaps Kala's mahogany series, KA models.
They have nice chromed/silver frets, and quality tuners. The tuners appear to have a rubber or perhaps silicone washer. The overall fit and finish is really well done and seems to have improved. Tone wise they have a lot of volume and sustain as well.
Been eyeballin those Riptides.....perfect uke to mod into a resonator. Can be done cheaply with those drop-in cones. Not sure about stability of soundboard if I cut a 6" hole in it.
