We've streamlined the registration process to make it a whole lot easier, and have pushed the registration deadline back to Feburary 14. One low price covers everything with significant discounts for kids (and free babysitting!)

Visit the website (http://www.campookoolaylay.com) for more information.

Hope you can make it!

Very cool news!

Is there any discount for Old Blues who may wish to attend (Go Bears!)

Gosh! This should be really fun for you!

But if you check out our website you'll see that we've already gotten a rock-bottom price from the alumni assocoation for the week at the lair. Have you been before?

I've visited the Lair a few times, as well as the Cal Lodge. Who knew there'd be benefits to being a student/alum of the UC?

Anyway, for those thinking about it, I would highly recommend the trip. Even without 'ukuleles, this place is really great.

As for me, I just may contact the Alumni Association and see if they can sweeten the deal for Old (and Young) Blues who may want to attend.

Thanks for putting this together!

And, when there, be sure to let everyone know that this is Bear Territory!

The deadline for Camp Oo-Koo-Lay-Lay (www.campookoolaylay.com) registration is fast approaching: February 14, 2012.

In case you haven't heard, this will be the first, ever, ukulele family summer camp, to be held at UC Berkeley's Lair of the Golden Bear, in Pine Crest, California.

All attendees at Camp Oo-Koo-Lay-Lay will have full access to all of the activities and programs available to every other camper at the Lair of the Golden Bear with the added benefit of specific ukulele instruction, workshops, jam sessions, and ukulele camp fires each night, and our own time on the Camp Oski Stage. Basically it’s a summer camp for people of the ukulele persuasion, especially those who’d like their non-uke-centric family members to join them.

However, registration for one of the tents in our uke-centric tent circles will close on February 14.

We're hoping to get a broad cross-section of ukulele players from all over, so anything you can do to help spread the word would be appreciated. (By the way, there are RV sites and motel-style rooms and cabins for those who prefer a few more creature comforts.......)

Here's looking at uke,

If you haven't checked into the Camp O website (http://www.campookoolaylay.com) lately, you should take another peek. We've added a bunch of new options to make it even more affordable and have added flex stays, where you can come for as many, (or as few) days as you'd like! Plus we will be announcing a new, and very exciting, instructor to the line-up......think "Seinfeld." More later........

Forgot to mention, the deadline is no longer applicable. We are still accepting applications and still have room in the tent circle and in the cabins at Pinecrest Lodge....if you're not the camper-type. And, I believe there are still spots available for motor homes. Check the website (http://www.campookoolaylay.com) for more details.

You may know her as “Susan,” George Costanza’s ill-fated, envelope-licking fiancée on Seinfeld:

But we know her as a delightful ukulele instructor and entertainer, a perfect addition to the staff of Camp-Oo-Koo-Lay-Lay.

This could be the last call for a cabin at Pine Crest Chalet if the rustic tent cabin is a bit too rustic for you........And remember, depending on what lodging option you choose (and there are great campsites nearby) you can join in the fun for as little as $60/day....for as many days as you'd like. Check out the website for more details: www.campookoolaylay.com And you can't beat the weather in August for a trip to the Sierra!

UPDATE: There's only one chalet left at Camp Oo-Koo-Lay-Lay for those of you not interested in the more rustic tent/cabin option. But, we do have a few tent/cabins available. And don't forget, you can come for as many, or as few, days as you'd like.......

And your flight simulator has what, exactly, to do with ukuleles?

We've just updated our registration information (http://campookoolaylay.wordpress.com/registration/) to take into account the flex stay options. You can now stay in the rustic tent cabins at Camp Oo-Koo-Lay-Lay, even if you are just coming to camp for one or two nights. Please visit the website (http://campookoolaylay.wordpress.com/) for more information.
