Great work, very nice. I also prefer un-plated brass. May I ask why you don't notch the top of the tension hoop to accept the hooks?

Yes I notch the most of the tension hoops I haven't explein that in the blog, I should do it, sometimes I don't do that if the tension hoop is not wider than 3mm if wider a notch is a must to keep the hook in place.
