New LR Baggs pick up 5-0 for ukulele

We just got one at Uke Republic in to try out. It has volume control and is designed to fit ukulele specifically. Less wire to have to bind and also runs off a coin 3V battery.

I've installed a couple of them and they have a very natural sound. I haven't yet been able to do a side by side comparison between the Five-0 and the MiSi however, I suspect they will be close, perhaps giving a slight edge to the Five-0. Batteries are always a hassle so that may be the deciding issue for some. They are also quite a bit more expensive than the MiSi. The prewired volume control is nice. The lead wire from the UST to the preamp is still too long and needs a loop or two to be secured with zip ties. And the shortened battery lead limits battery location. I normally like to locate a battery on the head block but it can't be done in the case of the Five-O unless you want the wire to be showing through the sound hole. Locating the battery on the upper bout is easy enough, just a bit awkward.
