So I'm after a bunch of instantly recognisable guitar riffs or solos that can be easily translated to play on the uke, so when people go "oh play something I know" I can just belt out a few of those. Always good to have a few of those up your sleeve.

Popular riffs such as the opening lick from Heart Shaped Box, Come As You Are, Sweet Child 'o Mine and No Woman No Cry come to mind.

Anybody got some suggestions? Bonus points for posting tabs too. :)

Oh and I will e-slap the first person to suggest "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz..... lol

"I'm Yours" by Ja.....oh wait, I'm out! :p

how about the twighlight zone, cover 3rd fret on E and A string and strum the 2 strings, then the same on the 4th fret, then back to the 3rd fret, then play E and A open, just using the E and A strings

Paint it Black - Rolling Stones
Jumpin' Jack Flash - Rolling Stones
Smells like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin
One Love - Bob Marley
Pretty Woman - Roy Orbison
Iron Man - Black Sabbath
Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Money For Nothing - Dire Straits
Wild Thing - The Troggs
Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor
Don't Fear The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
Up Around The Bend - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Miserlou - Dick Dale
My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion <hurts typing that one>

I'm too green a player to say if they're easy to play on a uke. :p

This chord progression from Monty Python's "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life" -- C - Am - Dm - G7 -- which also happens to show up in "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" and countless other songs. Play these chords and let people guess what song you're playing. :)

Thanks to the above, I finally got around to putting a few together:

Pearl Jam – Alive
The Rolling Stones – Satisfaction
Nirvana – Come As You Are
White Stripes – Seven Nation Army
Smashing Pumpkins – Today
Aerosmith – Walk This Way
AC/DC – Highway To Hell
Mumford & Sons – The Cave
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Scar Tissue
Cream – Sunshine Of You Love
