I'm working on my first arrangement of a Romantic era piano piece for ukulele. It's challenging enough for me to come up with the notes, much less write them down.

Does anyone know of any readily available software for creating tabs?

I use Power Tab Editor:

It's mainly used for guitars and bass but you can change the settings to four string and tune the guitar to a ukulele and it works perfect for me. It can be a bit tricky to get the hand of the software but once you do it's a brilliantly useful tool.

Guitar Pro is an easy to use tool for notation & tab (aprox. $60).
Tux Guitar is free and also works ok.

I have also used an open-source program on Linux, called TuxGuitar that can be setup to do ukes. I posted a review of it a year or so ago, so the search function might find it. I think there is a version available for Windows, as well.
