Anyone know what this chord is called...

could be cause 1442 is an E . . . try da regular E shape in place of dat one and see if sound right.

Yup, it's an alternate form of the E chord. Think of it this way: 1202 is E7, and the note that makes it a 7th chord is D (2 on the C string). Move that up two frets to E and now the chord is G# E E B. Neat inversion of the E chord and easier for some than the 4442 form.

Mahalo Gang, I just did a search, and just found this..http://ukulelehunt.com/2009/04/22/e-chord-ukulele/ ..I'll see how it sounds in a progression and if it works..thank you again...tried it and it
works on my concert...had to keep my fingers more upright though..yeah, it's kinda cool..will add it on
my list list of chords..woo hoo..

1402 it says it is a E chord??? hmm just wondering..thank you ahead of time..

Yep an E. The only reason I know is my son plays an E like that. I saw him and asked what he was doing. It sounded good and made sense when I thought about the notes involved. He has got some flexible fingers to pull that one off. I'm not sure he could do it on a tenor.
