I usually pick string order G A E C ...
...but since getting my Banjolele, I've tried a more banjo-esque G E C A pattern. Surprisingly this patten sounds quite beautiful on my 6 string uke.

 What patterns do you like?

I play banjo as my main instrument, so I use a lot of rolls and old-time banjo picking techniques. I use clawhammer sometimes, but it doesn't yield as good results in my opinion with only 4 strings.

I like to follow a down strum by picking the G string with my thumb and plucking the A string on the up strum. When ever I get bored learning a song I just play it like that as fast as I can lol.

I like to pluck the G and E string together with my thumb and 2nd finger, followed by CEA strings with fingers 123. Basic arpeggio pattern too.
