I'm new here, and have searched the forum but found nothing specific to my question yet. Some folks have converted Baritone ukes to basses, which is cool, but I'd like to build one from scratch.

I have a couple of Baritone plans, one Kasha braced and one fan braced. Were I to build either of these, what would I need to change, improve, thicken, thin, etc. in order to make it a good fun bass, a la Kala or Road Toad?

I've seen a couple of gorgeous examples on the Hana Lima 'Ia site, on their gallery page, of a Kasha bass. Would love to go there, and am looking forward to the journey. Thanks in advance for any advice or warnings or even good wishes!
