I was wondering if there was a reason I haven't noticed a ukulele with a blonde maple fret/finger board like you might find on some Fender electric guitars? Is it just personal preference?

There aren't many. I had Boat Paddle with a Maple fretboard. My personal fretboard preference is ebony (Macassar or Gabon).
