I have two long shoe laces, I bought it to use as strap.
The uke is so small and light compared to guitars, mandolins.
I would imagine this shoe lace looks as a nice strap for my uke.
I will post the picture after I attach it.

Have anyone use shoe lace as strap ?

Sure it works, I used that until I got my Uke Leash.

Indeed! Shoelaces on both my sopranos. Neither has a strap button, so I used one of these to attach the string at the bottom.

I do have strap buttons but I think the adhesive stuff you suggested here is pretty good for shoe lace, assuming the adhesive does not give up.

I use one of my dogs leashes- loop the handle over the headstock and clip the end to a belt loop.

Until I get a strap button on a uke, I use a Command sticky hook. So far, none have come off, they are easy to remove (e.g. when I put one on in the wrong direction, duh), and have not left any marks. Cheap, easy to find, and there's even a 50 cent off coupon at the website. http://www.command.com/wps/portal/3M/en_US/NACommand/Command/Products/Product-Catalog/?PC_7_RJH9U523080QE0IIHEICN90GC1000000_nid=VJRT254 X7RgsC4Z924C3ZHgl8P867CS2Z7bl&currID=SVDN29G1JXbe

Geez sorry about that long link!

One of my 'ukes has had the self-adhesive doodad attached since October of '10. No issues, yet. I also used them on my concert Eleuke jazz cutaway 'uke, which is much heavier, w/o problem. It was quite hard to peel off when I sold that 'uke, but left no mark on the finish. YMMV.

Looks like boot lace straps are quite popular. A friend of mine just ties the lace around the body under the strings where the soundhole is which could be another alternative if you don't have strap buttons.

Here is my Aria ACU-250 with: shoe lace as strap, I also drilled a hole for the strap button, no sweat and put on two light coats of clear lacquer so it look shiny. It was satin before this.

Actually I did quite a bit of work on it today: level the frets, made a compensated saddle to get good intonation, put on new strings.
It play sweet now.
