OK, my title kind of says it all. Friend of mine has a soprano uke that he hasn't seen in years. He brings it in and it looks in rough but cool shape. Not the black art deco one, but the lighter wood with the domino decals and Le Domino script on the headstock. What makes it odd is that it has a screwed on plastic fretboard, like the kind on a Harmony, screwed over the frets/fretboard of the original uke (or did it come like this? I hardly think so). The original neck and fretboard is all of one piece - the frets are just set in the neck itself. Of course, they are now covered up by the plastic fretboard, but it looks like once I string it that it will play. I don't have pictures to post, but I will do it later on my blog. For now, any thoughts on this? Thanks,

Mike
