Hello all, I bought this uke about 5 years ago mainly because it just sounds great, but there is no marking or brand name whatsoever. Solid mahogany, 19 inch scale length. I was wondering if anyone could lead me in the right direction towards figuring out the maker and possibly even the year it was made.

Based on the headstock, the body shape, the bridge, and the rosette, I would venture to say: early to mid-sixties Vega.

My neighbour has one of these and I gave it a clean up and restrung it with Fremont flourocarbons and reworked the nut and bridge. It sounds terrific now. I wish I had bought it before I fixed it up. He won't part with it now. It's surprising what a little lemon oil does to neglected instruments. At the time I figured it came out of Harmony for anyone that wanted 500 to a 1000 or more.
