I'm on the lookout for an 8 string Tenor Uke, maybe the Kala KA-8 or maybe the Lanikai UO-8 or simillar, UK only though due to Customs..
what have you?

Cranes used to do a really nice 8 string tenor in their Hudson line, but it's disappeared from their site. I used it here:

Have heard the solid spruce topped Lanikai (or whatever it goes by in the U.K.
It sounded decent. Not fabulous, but decent. Would spend a little more for a better one if I could. Do the sell Pono's over there?

My advise, don't go cheap, get a nice one. Kanilea, Kamaka, Martin, Maui Music.

I got a 30-40 year old Kamaka 8 string tenor on EBay a few months ago and couldn't be happier with it. It's rather plain looking but sounds fantastic.
If you can find a quality 8 string uke, buy it.
