I just wish I had taken it up years ago...

Always thought the Uke looked incredibly hard to play having only seen the late great Formby play in his films as a kid. However accepting that to play like George is hard and takes years of practice, playing basic songs in a basic manner isn't so hard and yet warms the soul :)
 
No worries - at least you are playing it now. Enjoy!
 
I felt, and feel the same way.

My "elevator speech" comment about how hard the uke is to learn, goes like this: "Mastering the ukulele is just as difficult as mastering any other musical instrument, but there is no other instrument that will have you playing your first songs in about one hour!"

I think that sums up learning the 'Uke... I am trying (badly) to learn the splitstroke at the mo... hard to master it is...
