you need to make a blackberry application...no have Iphone (doesn't sync up as easy with work) and no have Itouch...old school ipod for me...

I have recently acquired an I-phone. Hand me down from my wife when she got the newer version. There are some interesting guitar applications out there, but I have not had a chance to fully investigate them yet.

What's the deal with enhancing functionality on those new i-thingies? Worth the trouble, or restricted by firmware?
First generation Nano here. Running Rockbox on it, just fantastic. Too bad they went and changed the bowels of 2nd gen and up Nano machinery to prevent open source software from running... you get video, loads of settings, custom skins. Watching Rocky on 176 x 132, not to mention thumbnail Aldrine, mini-Jake + James, and dwarf Rammstein. Breaking the Apple OS mold was a really good thing for the Nano 1st gen. Do those new things give the user more freedom, I am not very up-to-date with the whole "jailbreak" movement.

My sister gave me her old palm centro and it pretty much does everything you could possibly need a portable device to do. :D

Ryan, do you know how to program for palm? we need uke apps for palm too!

My daughters think my jurassaic Sprint phone (about 8 years old. I've replaced the battery 5 or 6 times) belongs in a museum! LOL! I only use it for phone calls. Why do they call it a cell "phone"?! Hahaha! Ric

Blackberry FTW. But I will probably buy an itouch after my iPod video dies.

I'll probably get an iTouch next year, but my 5G Video iPod 30Gig is still going strong! :D

Dude someone beat you to it, I saw someone with one of those just the other day. I couldnt hear it, don't know if it sounded any good, but do a search for it, im pretty sure it's out there.

rather buy a new uke than that thing tbh

I have an iphone and it would be great to have an app for it. The other day I downloaded a app that turns into a uke, its fun to try and play songs on it.

I have both ;) I'm crazy that way. I bought them to review for my website ( http://the-gadgeteer.com ). I don't use the iPhone much though... I prefer a phone with physical buttons.

I would find an application that shows you chord fingerings useful. I have seen them for guitars but not for ukes.

That would be AWESOME!

I'm considering an iPod Touch as a birthday present for myself next month. But then again, that money could be better spent on a Tiki Flea...

i have an itouch... please make an uke app! that would be really dope..

but you have to make it so it can be use by people who jailbreak their device..

i know theres 2.0 software for the iphone and itouch, but a lot of people downgraded their device to use the installer app.

keep that in mind =D

thats strange. I was actually just considering getting one for my birthday next april. lol.

I just got an iTouch. I couldn't hold off anymore. I just really wanted to use the bloomberg app on it. I looked for a ukulele app like a chord finder last night, but there weren't any. It really is a cool device. I didn't really need one, since I already have an ipod video which still does fine, but its a cool new toy.

I have the iPod Touch 2G and was just wondering if you ever decided to do that uke app for the Touch/iPhone users?

12-21-2008, 04:02 AM
We got an iPhone a couple of weeks ago when our computer was in for repairs (which took a month)!

What a relief to finally be able to check e-mails and weather again!

I don' have an iPhone but there is an app for ukulele on it, kinda. Its from pocket guitar. You can set what type of 'guitar it is and one is the ukulele! I was playing with it in school :D Its very sensitive but pretty fun.

When you're a 14 year old student when all you care about is lots of texting, the iphone just isn't that great. I had no use for any other function, like stocks, map, weather, and calender. I know have something like the sidekick called the "quickfire"

12-21-2008, 12:35 PM
I don't have an iPhone but a LG Viewty and it can read SWF so I saved this flash app : http://www.sheep-entertainment.nl/ukulele/index.html
and I use it whenever I forget a chord, it's not great on a such little screen but it's useful tough.

Go for it! I have an iPhone and have that Pocket Guitar app. It seems like there is so much more that a Uke-specific app could be. What would be great is that if an app could bring a little bit of the spirit of ukulele as well as be a tool.

One of the coolest iphone music apps for sure is called ocarina (like the little flutes). You can actually blow into the mic and play by covering a combination of the "holes". The sound is very ethereal. The coolest part though, is that you can switch to a view of the globe and it starts feeding what someone else is playing at that very moment.

Imagine if you were jamming on your iUke and could duet with someone on the other side of the planet!

Whatever you make, sign me up!
