So I had an Oscar Shit (Schmidt, actually) OU-2E that had a pickup and an EQ that broke on me. :( I recently picked up a fully acoustic Kala Mahogany wood tenor. I've seen Aldrine's modded Kamaka (a Kamaka!), and I've been wondering what would be the best pickup, and how to add it in my Ku'uipo (yeah, I named her Ku'uipo). Anyone got any ideas?

I couldn't tell you what's best as far as pickups go. There are internal and external types, passive and active and so on. I think Aldrine has a Fishman active (?). Here are a few threads you can browse through.

Yeah, I'm thinking about adding an internal pickup under the saddle. The only questions are the installation and drilling a hole in my ukulele.

yo if you havent had experience doing it i suggest you take it to a shop that does installations and repairs.

just a suggestion because you don't want to mess up a perfectly good ukulele =)

There's a post (#4) by seeso in this thread (http://www.ukuleleunderground.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5179) about installing an undersaddle pickup. He provides a link to an installation tutorial. Looks simple, provided you have the necessary tools. If you're uncomfortable about doing it, you might seek the help of a shop/luthier as soobz mentioned.
