Just curious if anyone has tried this? I have friend who wants one, and plans don't exist. Mostly thinking about neck width. Any thoughts?

It would depend a bit on how you are wanting to set up the extra strings. Are they going to be octave pairs on the g and c, or are you going to have 6 strings total like a guitar but tuned as a uke? I recently did a Guitalele and the client and I settled on 48mm wide at the nut. 3mm in from the fret board on each side. I used stewmacs string spacing rule for guitars on this nut, so the string space got progressively larger from treble to base. But it works out at about 8.4mm between strings.

Client said that he really like the spacing. Neck felt a little wide for me, but I've become pretty accustomed to a uke neck and anything wider than 36mm seems pretty big to me now.
