I have been enjoying my recently acquired Kamaka 8string, but found the sound a bit "busy". I took off the high G & C and wow, I really like the sound. the bass notes are now clear as a bell, and the first 2 sound awesome with the bass notes. I love it. will post a sound sample when I get a chance. any other variations you 8stringers have tried?

Congratulations. You've got your first custom ukulele. And it's a Kamaka!!!

I think it's great when people experiment and find ways to fine-tune even the finest instruments to suit their own tastes.

So far, I prefer a great sounding 6 string uke to an 8 string 90% of the time.
