Another Xx/Xx note question

The note after the slash is a bass note. This matters on a guitar, where you have a few octaves to work with and you can make that note be the lowest note in the chord you play. On a uke, you usually don't have the flexibility to put that note in the bass. In most cases, I'd say try it as a regular Ab chord (like 5343) and as an Ab with an E thrown in (easiest would be 1303) and see which sounds better in your song.

Some songs require you to keep playing a chord for a few measures while the bass note goes up or down. In those cases, you do want to see if you can find a way to include that bass note in what you're playing.
 
Sounds a little advanced for this humble uker. I didn't know ukes have bass notes! :)
