There are loads of ukulele artists both well known and not so well known, I've found some stunning ones recently but there must be loads I/we don't know about, so who are your favourites?

Interesting question!
YouTube is a 'uke genre all its own:)
DEFINETLY put Mr Ken Middleton up there - and Eugene of course! Two totally different styles but both show different aspects of great musicianship :)
Agree with the other suggestions above too!

Here's another guy I absolutely love. He's also from Tasmania and is something of a recluse like me. His channel is called "Bradfieldization". Man he can really play this thing...

The players that come to mind right now who I would most like to be able to play like: heftone, ukulelezaza, krouk, and wininboy. There are tons of others that I enjoy a lot, but those four do what I wish I could even come close to replicating. Plus, the collection of Martins hanging on krouk's wall just boggles my mind!

Wow, there are so many really fantastic players both pro and not. I won't call this a "my favorites" list because there really too many and I'd be sure to leave some people off who belong on the list.

That said, videos by Taimane Gardner, Gus and Fin (the Gugug guys), Baron69 (I think it's 69, Baron something, anyway), WS64, Little6ster, and Sebi probably deserve most of the credit (or blame) for my taking up the uke. Somewhere along the line I also fell in love with videos by Jake, James Hill, and UOGB.

Since then I've discovered guys like our own Eugene_Ukulele, dr_becken, Cyril, sinus, Matt Lindahl, 23skidoo and many, many others. This list just kept growing and I realized, "holy carp, we have a lot of talented folk hanging out around here!" And, of course, you can't forget the great stuff from the guys behind UU!

I discovered him looking for James Taylor's "Fire and Rain". Sometimes I wish I was a guy just so I could have a voice like that. Ah well, I'll comfort myself with the thought that he probably can't hit the high note in "Star Spangled Banner".

Great stuff on this thread!

Here's a few more.

First, our own Ryan Rodriguez:

Then another one of ours - Francisco Castillo:

and then finally, one that might be pushing it a bit. Not exactly an ukulele artist, not even exactly an ukulele - and while he has many more virtuoso performances on the tube, here's a simple, sweet one. El Maestro Leonardo Lozano:

Whoa -

All my favorites are here, especially Eugene, Dr. Bekken, and Ralf - the big three. :) And thanks, Jon. :)

Also - Krouk, Winin' Boy, Ukulelezaza, Weegingayin, Heftone, Ukisociety, and all the rest - great!

A.J. Leornard is missing, though! He's great. And so is Patsy Monteleone - who doesn't post much, but he's on others' youtube pages and gosh, he's fantastic. And Uke Box! And Bosko and Honey!! And Steve Helme - the fastest man in the west...

The list really could go on forever...

Thank you so much for posting this. Since I saw it last week, I've become a huge Lila Burns fan! She's not as professional as some players, but as you said, her song writing is simply amazing. To me, her amateur recordings are a perfect fit to her style and makes her songs even more endearing. I even emailed her to ask if I could play one of her songs at a convention I'm going to this summer. She wrote back right away and gave me a wonderful response. She's good people.

I always enjoyed puffin312's videos. i mean whats not to like about a beautiful women playing the uke lol. i mean seriously this girl is gorgeous and very talented. shes is actually one of the reasons i started playing the ukulele, i really liked her cover of Metallicas nothing else matters and her Wonderwall cover. she has yet to make a video i havent enjoyed, unfortunately her page has recently been listed as private and all her videos are now unavailable. puffin312 if your out there keep rockin that uke and posting your videos to the public, they are great!
