I was recently given a new Gretsch Ukulele with the model number G9100 and the Serial Number said PROTO1. a Gretsch rep gave it to me when he came out to see a coutry artist i work for and after admiring it for awhile he told me to keep it. I was just wondering if anyone knew much about the new "Roots Collection" coming out from Gretsch? how much is the uke worth?
I know its mahogany top, back and sides; mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge with Aquila Nylgut strings

I think "G9" is the model, "100" is the price. :)

Seriously, there's lots more info here (http://www.ukuleleunderground.com/forum/showthread.php?60182-Gretsch-Roots-Collection).

I think that your soprano is a laminate and the retail will be under $100.00

Wow, that makes the prototype nicer than the production model. Cool. Don't worry about what it's worth, just have a few thousand dollars worth of fun playing that uke. :P
