I was recently given a new Gretsch Ukulele with the model number G9100 and the Serial Number said PROTO1. a Gretsch rep gave it to me when he came out to see a coutry artist i work for and after admiring it for awhile he told me to keep it. I was just wondering if anyone knew much about the new "Roots Collection" coming out from Gretsch? how much is the uke worth?
I know its mahogany top, back and sides; mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard and bridge with Aquila Nylgut strings

I had no clue that Gretch was making uke's again. Post more pic's if you can and let us know what you think of it.

I think that your soprano is a laminate and the retail will be under $100.00

thanks for everyones input, im attaching a few more pics. and its definitely not a laminate, its solid wood. i dont know if maybe just mine is solid because its a prototype or what, it sounds great tho, great little uke

Wow, that makes the prototype nicer than the production model. Cool. Don't worry about what it's worth, just have a few thousand dollars worth of fun playing that uke. :p
