What was your Top Song of the week when you were born?

"Eight Days a Week" by the Beatles...no wonder they are my favorite band!

I was born a month early, as the Byrds' "Mr. Tambourine Man" topped the charts. Had I been born on schedule, the Stones' "Satisfaction" would have been #1 - appropriately enough, it was my first favorite song when I was a very small child. I have a very early memory of seeing the Stones on tv and my mom commenting about Mick, "That is the UGLIEST man I have ever seen!" - and from that moment on I knew they had to be really, really cool :)

hey mate. Mine was "American Pie" by Don McLean. In the UK it was The Seekers song, "I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing".

Lots of fun these kind of threads. Just sayin though Bruddah, there's actually one going already in 'Gen Discussion" about this too...

Never got into Don McLean, except for that gorgeous song he wrote about Van Gogh, but always loved The Seekers and Judith Durham is a sweeeeeetie :)

HA HA...don't know if it's good or not Bruddah. Confronts me with how old I am...he he. I would rather it had been "Smells Like Teen Spirit" or something :p

Golly Gee Whillickers....There was no music before 7th January 1950.
PS: Very fast with typing in Norway. HaHa!!

This is mine born 2-29-60. I don't know the song. Maybe if I heard it I would.
Theme from "A Summer Place". (Percy Faith)

Ha ha mine was Dave Edmunds " I hear you knocking " the funny thing is my oldest sister (10 years older than me ) actually had the single and when i was about 6 or so, i used to take his single from her collection and play it over and over, but it used to fascinate me playing it at 76 rpm, never ever knew that it was the #1 of my birth day kinda spooky :), bu the first ever single that i owned well that is a whole different story !!!!!!!!

Aloha Stan,
Google just told me this........
The Hit of the Week record was a paper-based disc and sold for less than a quarter,
while most records were still priced at seventy-five cents.
I think they started with those discs in 1931,and they sound very well.
"When I take my sugar to tea"
PS: We were zooming past each other in zyberspace at 7:58. You also type fast.
I typed slowly because I know you can't read too fast. HaHa!!
