With Petes reso cover plate and loiter talk of resos, I have been getting an itch to give one a try. I have always loved the the blues slide sound so would love to have one around to try and learn to play...

anyway got to looking around and it would seem that to get a cone, bridge, and cover plate would cost in the range of $400 us. or more. Does this sound right? Is there a cheaper alternative?

I feel like I must be missing something. Also is there any good info out there on the construction, I have seen a couple threads here, I know pete posted pics of a body.

Right now it looks like the cheapest way to get a reso is to buy a cheap one, $300+- and take it apart.

Sorry for the rambling I still waiting on coffee.
