I conducted my "Stress Free Soloing" Worskhop at the recent Reno Ukulele Festival. Jim D'Ville did a quick interview with me regarding my approach to soloing as it relates to the workshop.

This is really helpful stuff. I want to suggest that once we know what the right notes are, we can learn to embrace even the wrong notes. This is not my idea -- I got it from bassist Victor Wooten (of Bela Fleck and the Flectones fame) whose ideas is that since we are never more than one note away from a "right" note (which, when you do the math, proves to be true), we can slide up or down from the "out" notes and be in the right key. In the video link below, which I found on Youtube yesterday, Wooten shows us how to embrace the "out" note, telling us to "make music with it." Talk about soloing stress free. When we combine the theory Dominator is so effectively giving us here with this idea from Wooten, there is no end to the beautiful solos we can make:

Thanks Dom, very informative. When can we expect the next installment of Uknown? I have been driving the wife crazy trying to perfect it.

Leroy,
Not sure when I will get to it. I have a new lighting kit on the way. Was planning on waiting for it to arrive to do the last video.
