I had just watched the movie Malcolm X and ol' Denzel was having a hard time
with the Nation of Islam after his trip to Mecca. Phone tapped and plots against
his life, and during a reflective moment on the soundtrack out comes Ray Charles
singing "Lucky old sun" with a slow heartbreaking bluesy feel, just tinkling away
on the piano, but that magic voice was giving the song some wellie.
Ah that tingling feeling when the voice shifts up a gear and goes into overdrive.
It just makes you believe every word he says.
