Just completed - this tenor has a London Plane body, tulip wood neck and ebony fretboard and bridge.

It's also my first slotted headstock. Hope you like..

Could you describe "London Plane" wood a little? Does it have a relative in North America?

I understand it's not a native tree to the UK in spite of it's name..it's a hybrid ..in America it has a close reative .. Platanus occidentalis, also known as American Sycamore, American planetree, Occidental plane,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platanus ....I got this info from the internet so don't shout at me if it's incorrect but I remember seeing loads of them in Paris :D...Nice job on the uke Rob, good plinking from yourself as well.:)

London Plane is a hybrid of the US sycamore and its oriental cousin. It was widely planted in London because its waxy leaves and flaking bark make it resistant to pollution.

To my eye it is the most exotic-looking wood commonly grown in the UK.
