I am replacing the top of an ukulele with a spruce soundboard I ordered. It's currently guitar thickness; I know I'll have to thin it down for a soprano uke.
I can measure the thicknesses of my current ukes, but I don't have any spruce, only mahogany and koa. I'm assuming the softer spruce should be thicker than those hard woods.
The soprano is going to be tuned to D rather than C, so it's going to be concert tension. Anybody know how thick to make a spruce uke top?
