I have not tried this yet but I'm about to.

Some time ago I had asked about an easy way to record quick sound clips on a Mac. Finally found "Audio Recorder-Pro" and it works well but the one at the link below sounds good as well.

The App will set you back $1.00 USD.

Hey that's not half bad. Sometimes you don't need Garage Band and Audacity is what prisoners are sentenced to using to pay for their crimes. I have another simple-but-really-works audio app for free called Levelator. You drag and drop the audio and it normalizes the sound and removes some background noise in such a way as to find a balance where it works but didn't chew up your audio at the same time. There's no options and so far it hasn't needed them. Just drag the mixdown onto this app.
