what is a Radius fretboard?

I like the radiused fretboard a lot. Some luthiers charge to make one on a uke others, Mya Moe for one, make it as standard feature. For me, I find it much easier to barre a chord and is much easier for walking up the neck. My hands are a little beat up with a bit of arthritis and the radiused helps a lot. The slight radius makes a big difference IMO.

As stated above the fretboard is curved.

It's more of a guitar thing really...

The smaller the number the more the arch... (because of the smaller the diameter a circle would be to create that curve.)

Most classical guitars have a flat radius but some of the old electrics have a 7.25

A radius is good for playing chords (esp barre chords) but bad for bends and low actions.

But on the Uke you never barre more than 3 strings so it shouldn't really be a problem although I can see for Madsen it could be a great help.

Patrick, Do you know what the actual radius is on the Mya-Moe? I know it is 12" on the Collings. Also, what woods, bindings, etc, did you opt for on yours?
