Yes, I don't think I have seen a maple Gstring.

A T-4 gstring tenor @ Papua is listed here for sale, to give you a data point. This is a pretty high end one.

Derek Shimizu was the owner as well as a builder of GString Ukuleles. He started building in 1993 in his garage located in Kaimuki. He then moved to a shop located in Halawa Valley on the island of Oahu and relocated to Keaau on the Big Island about 2-3 years ago. The name GString comes from the top string (GCEA) of the instrument rather than using a name with the letter 'K'. I don't know if he is still building. Here's a previous thread about GString.
Methinks you will be hard pressed to locate one for a grand.
