Okay, I will comment - I learned more in a 45 minute conversation with Robinson than I did the previous 5 years actually doing inlay. Thanks to Rick for the intro.

I taught Larry how to do rudimentary inlay work in about 1974 or so when he first worked for me. Check out his book; he tells the story, and it's kind of funny. He, of course, completely blows me off the planet now with what he can do with that. That's the idea of teaching, isn't it?
 
What's cool is when I met Larry, I got his new revised version of his book, and had him sign it (at NAMM). Then I went right upstairs to have Rick sign it as well (Rick did the intro). Of course he said, "Are you kidding me!?!?" Yeah, well, when I get old and start losing my memory, I hope I can remember what those autographs mean, and what I've learned, from both of them. . . then share my kids if they start taking up the craft.
