Has anyone had the opportunity to play a redwood topped tenor or concert size ukulele?

If so could you describe the sound compared to say an all mahogany?

I am thinking it would be similar to a cedar top as redwood is sometimes described that way for a guitar.

Anyone have any feedback they can share?

Yup! I've played a Redwood top and will tell you it is a dream:) Very dynamic. Mellow yet crisp. All mahogany sounds good too. If I were you I'd go Redwood. Mahogany will always be around. Unless it is cuban........;)

My two faves are my all honduran mahogany and my indian rosewood/curly redwood. The rosewood is warm and overtone heavy, and the redwood is epic, big, overtoney, and perfect. Love it. Sound samples of a similar ukulele: http://lichtyguitars.com/2011/03/25/custom-brazilian-rosewood-ukulele/
