Does anyone here have first-hand experience with the Kala KA-SRB baritone? If so, could you please share your thoughts? Also, if you had a chance to compare it to any other baritones, could you talk about that too? I'm curious how the spruce top compares to, say, an all-mahogany baritone in terms of volume, projection and brightness. But any and all observations would be appreciated. Thanks.
I've played the Oscar Schmidt spruce rosewood baritone. It has a bright, loud sound, brighter than spruce-mahogany, and definitely brighter than all mahogany. Some people say spruce-rosewood baritones sound very "guitar-like," which would make sense, since many guitars are made with the same woods. I've never played this Kala spruce-rosewood baritone but I'd imagine it's very similar to my Oscar Schmidt OU53S.
