Okay, well almost everyone sneers at Mahalo Ukes,
BUT...let me tell you, I had a Mahalo Tenor,which
was around 75 a couple of years ago; after a
change of strings (To Aquila) and the tiniest go
at the nut with a nail file, I ended up with a super
instrument...FOR A CHEAPIE! Woth considering,
but hey that's just my opinion!

For a tenor, that money does put you in the bargain basement end of ukes. That isn't to say there isn't a good one out there, but do be careful. Certainly don't buy online without testing the uke, or from a shop who can do a setup - better to go in person and check intonation, action etc.

You could get a Kala KA-T for about 80 GBP. (Highly Strung sells them IIRC), allthough I must confess I never played one. I do own its cheaper brother, the Makala MK-T which I do like a lot for a beginners instrument.

I just purchased a Makala MK-T a fortnight ago, 43 pounds from coutyney and walker, they will also change strings and set. Exellent buy.
