I can't contain my joy at being the new owner of a new solid zebrawood Ohana soprano ukulele today! (And not even a month after First New Uke Ever Day!). It will not be surprising to anyone that going from a laminate instrument to a solid wood one is quite sonically exciting. Not only does it sound amazing, but I feel like it's easier to play... the action is a little lower and the whole instrument just sings. I've got the Aquilas it came with on there now, with no plans to change until I learn my chord changes better.
Here are the specs and some pics for those who are interested:
* Gloss finish
* Deluxe Grover geared tuners
* Solid zebra wood top, back & sides
* Mahogany neck
* Rosewood fingerboard (15 frets) and bridge
* Mother of Pearl dot inlays
* Bone nut and saddle
