In other words, you're trying to learn to read standard notation?

Standard notation is just that - standard. So, any sheet music can become ukulele sheet music :)

How about the ezFolk Public Domain Music Library (http://www.ezfolk.com/library/)? They've got three old ukulele methods, each teaches in standard notation. They do, however, teach you to play with a uke tuned ADF#B.

To get started reading standard notation, I used Ron Middlebrook's Ukulele Song Book: In Notation and Tablature---lots of familiar songs with melodies written both in notation and tab (for ukes tuned GCEA), chords are indicated without diagrams.

Hey Ralf, is there a way to download stuff from that site without using Facebook? I'm stumped by this - was trying to figure it out and gave up :(

This conversation reminded me of an old thread from Fleamarket Music. There's an online library at Duke University where you can view and download old sheet music. Looks like a lot of treasures there; I'll have to go back and explore again. Check it out:

That site is GREAT -

Also - National Library of Australia Sheet Music Collection http://data.gov.au/dataset/national-library-of-australia-sheet-music-collection/ and University of Indiana has one as well http://webapp1.dlib.indiana.edu/inharmony/welcome.do

Several colleges worldwide have sheet music libraries that cover tons of public domain music, and even the music still in copyright can be gotten for a fee.
