Working on a steel string, semi hollow body electric ukulele for my son's birthday. I'm going to install a magnetic pickup but am thinking of throwing a piezo on there too. I'm using a hardtail bridge and wondered if anyone has used any of the piezo saddles for that type of setup. I know GraphTech makes the Ghost system. I doubt a piezo on the soundboard will do any good.

Here are some photos of it in the finishing process. Top is walnut. Body is mahogany and I found some really curly mahogany for the neck.

Just stunning....love the wood. What do you use for finishing?

Two coats of amber shellac followed by nitro lacquer. The shellac really brings out the color and figure. I really like it on koa. It turns the sap wood almost gold.

I haven't decided yet. I have an Almuse and a pickup that I got from a guy that makes them for cigar box instruments.

Your son better love it! If not, I can take it off his hands

Good work!
