This is the latest offering from Barry Sholder Gourd Banjo Ukes. This is the "Owl" tenor size 17" scale 24" O/A length.
This Uke feature an Ambrosia neck which has Ambrosia beetle holes and streaky sapwood...very cool. Ebony fretboard. The peghead gas a top and bottom overlay of curly maple and the top has a hand burned burrowing Owl image. The tuners on this Uke are Friction Violin Tuners and is strung with Aguila Banjo Uke strings wound 3rd. This neck also has a scoop if you clawhammer. There are top and side dots in yellow to match the eyes of the Owl.
The gourd is 8 1/2" dia x 3 1/2" deep with 2" soundport. The interior of the gourd has been fiberglass for durability and better acoustics. The gourd is cover in goat skin that has been been hand inked image of a burrowing owl. The tailpiece is a romero Style that keeps the strings from touching the edge of the gourd.
