For Art class we have this assignment where we have to make an artwork, the theme is 'The Ordinary Object into the EXTRAORDINARY!"
So, I found this crappy old tiny ukulele sized toy guitar in my garage, and it's pretty much just like a Ukulele, only with 6 strings. The strings were terrible little metal things so I unstringed it. But, I plan on painting it insane and violent colours and maybe hooking up some sort of light inside of it.
But, I'm not sure how to go about painting it.
It's all shiny and polished or clearcoated/laquered. So would I have to sand it off? What sort of paint would one use? And afterwards should I use some sort of clearcoat? I'm new to painting and I'm never used an instrument before, at least to paint.
If anyone could give me some tips on renovating this 6 stringed monstrosity and turning it into a eye-raping colourful abomination, I would be extremely grateful.
