Hey Folks,
I went to the Appalachian Festival at Coney Island in Cincinnati this past weekend and seen this bass instrument, a Marimbula. Really caught my ear. It was being used in a Dulcimer Jam. Great bass sound, no string, just levers. I can see where this would be great at a Ukulele Jam. Three styles, 7 lever, 9 lever and a 13 note cromatic scale model....ranging in prices from $350. - $595.
I can see one of these in my future! The person who makes these is near Columbus, Ohio. Check out his webpage.
