At our local farmers' market last weekend there were TWO ukulele duos. One was two ukes, and the other was a uke + mandolin that sounded very good together.

Has the uke trend that everyone talks about finally made it to my town? :D

Yup, it sounds like it. That must have been fun getting to watch and hear.

It has certainly taken off. I have 3 guys I play with every week so we're a 4 person group (http://youtube.com/jayukulele). No mandolin playing yet although one does have a mandolin I think he won't pry the uke from his hands.

Go ahead get your group going and join the revolution and fun! Mandolin and Uke is very cool. I was at a concert with Patrick Landeza who is known for his slack key guitar, and they had several groups with mandolin. Just awesome when someone can play one and do more than just strumming. This guy was actually finger picking it like a mad man...was great.
Cheers!
