Ok, I watched Petey's '5 Martin comparison' video a few weeks back....and was unable to resist my UAS.
My new OXK soprano Martin showed up today. What a nice Uke! It's overall a great little player and I am very pleased with the south-of-the-border build. The intonation is as close to perfect as I have ever played, and the Martin fluoro strings work very well. I like them.
I now have a 'plastic' uke in my fold and I like it very much. I'll probably make it my take with me uke so I don't worry so much about humidity and bumps, scratches or cracks. (Yes, I really do take a uke with my on a jet...make fun, but it's true. And the pressurization system makes the air all but water free, i.e., humidity is extremely low.)
I'm not sure what I'll do with 17 frets....har.
