1918 Kamaka

Sorry to highjack the thread, but I'm more interested in the nature of the missing bits from the headstock crest and the torn makers label.

Did someone (inexpertly) attempt to peel those marks off of this instrument?

It's almost 100 years old. As Yoda would say, look this good at 100 years, you will not. ;)

Yes it is a blue decal...which means it is a special order Kamaka ukulele...wow, nice with that custom binding, makes it even more rare...maybe the date is not as old though..
Nice white label uke.. yes people clean ukes and the wear on the decal and label is why it is worn..

Afraid I am to commit to an instrument that old; require much care it will.

Ditto MMStan.. I dont think its as old as seller sez, and even tho' it was very special in its day, it looks like the cracks were not professionally repaired(or it was too dried out to re-humidify). but all it takes is one Buyer!!
