O...K... I came across this seller of "unique" stringed instruments on The Bay, and thought it was worth a bit of discussion. So, what do y'all think of their efforts?

I'd want to hear a sound sample before passing judgment, but I've always kind of believed that a thing designed to do two dispirate things probably does neither of them very well. On the other hand, if having an ukulele/cane made it easier to practice strum techniques while, say, riding the bus, that wouldn't be all bad.

I like your reference to the SNL spoof ad from the John Belushi era. That's just old school.
 
Kind of interesting... But I really got a laugh out of the "New Shimmer" reference! I haven't thought of that in AGES! "Relax you two... New Shimmer is a floor wax AND a dessert topping!"
That's some funny stuff!
 
I think things like this while cool to us, it just adds more novelty stereotype to the uke. when i snagged that vintage harmony at the fleamarket I did not get five feet before some a hole yelled hey tiny tim.
