Background, I graduated last year(still no job in the degree) with a BS in mechanical engineering, and really love art. I want to pursue design engineering, and still and applying(SO IF YOU KNOW ANYONE IN SAN DIEGO :]!!) but i finally got a copy of a program called SolidWorks we used extensively in college. a year without practice, I decided to make something fun, an uke!! i'll be posting of its progress here because I'm stoaked about it, and don't think my friends really care hahah :]

Lay out!

That's pretty cool. Good luck in your job hunt and your future........................BO.........................

Thank you plenty 808boy.

but I am thoroughly enjoying how I'm living currently. I figure I'll be spending the rest of my life as an engineer, eventually, so why not just Enjoy what I have today.

but back to the uke!

Aloha Watrr,
Nice Job and congrats on the degree.....is that a free software where did you get it..good luck in your career endeavors...

Nicely done fella! Mix of block and spline modelling? I always have a bugger of a time tracing round shapes with splines, but then again I never use Solidworks.

Extruding them while trying to keep a smooth edge is a nightmare in C4D. I just revert to block modelling and stick it in a Hypernurb at the end. Saves me from going out and punching the first person I meet.

hahahaha I KNOW the feeling. Using Pro-E was heinous, especially on the school computers. to make The Very Most Simple thing, took 6 hours because of how slow it ran. I completely reverted back to a very young and angry version of myself who cursed in every other word through that experience.
