Is it a Risa? Now that I look at it, probably not. I can't see the word on the headstock. It looks like it ends in a -ll.

By the way, there are no prizes... I still get to keep it, even if you guess right. :)

Some clues...

1. It came from the UK
2. It's handmade
3. It's gorgeous

It's a *stunning* archtop concert uke by British luthier Toby Chennell. Haven't heard of him? You will...

You'll have to ask Toby, but I will say that the case is a thing of beauty... one of the nicest cases I've ever owned, and it just "came with."

That bridge looks like a skyscraper! I've never seen something like that where the neck/fingerboard were so high above the body. It's a nice looking uke.

I plan to! Stuck at work now, so it's all I can to to not break it out right here and now! But it's gonna get a workout this weekend...

I don't know if you checked the builders site but he has them available there for sale. No prices were listed but there's an email to contact him regarding items for sale. sales@jazzboxukes.com

It appears that Toby is sold out of readymade ukes (the one I bought was the last one that was listed as a available on his site), but it appears he deals primarily in custom-made instruments, so I'm sure he'd be happy to make one for anybody who wants one. Right now, his prices are rock bottom...grab one now before demand makes them higher.

EDIT: I realize now that mikelz777's post was about cases, so my response is sort of non-responsive, but I'll leave it there, anyway. BTW, love your Groucho avatar.

In looking at it again, it looks like a build similar to a cello.

It has a carved spruce top, like and archtop guitar. And since archtop guitars were originally based on the violin family, the cello reference is very apt. I haven't had the chance yet to turn 'er lose, but this thing has miles of tone....
