Wondering where the best place around Manchester is to go and ogle/caress a few different ukes with a view to purchasing? Any help muchly appreciated!

Side question: when looking at electric ukes what's the minimum sort of price you need to pay to get something with decent electronic innards and a decent sound - any makes of uke/pick-up to seek out/avoid?

Cheers.

Manchester UK? Try Forsyths. If you can travel - Eagle Music in Huddersfield.

Re electrics - remember you get what you pay for. If you see two similarly specked ukes, similar prices, but one has electrics, it stands to reason the electrics one is a lesser "uke". I always work on basis that the raw uke is what matters first, so don't be swayed by bargains. If you were prepared to spend £100 on a non electric uke, if you want one with electrics get ready to spend, say up to £50 more. Brands that have reputation include Fishman, Shadow, K&K, LR Baggs
