Uploading Covers to youtube

So I think there is a lot of people that have the same problem I do when they upload a cover. When ever I film a cover and listen, it doesn't make me proud because it just sounds really messy and not that good. But when I am not filming I sound a lot better. And all my friends think I'm am like a god at ukulele. I need help to make a good cover.
